Beyond the Brink: John Oliver on Washington

The current president likes to compare himself — favorably of course — to the first president. So Beyond the Brink podcast host Rosemary Armao talked this week with an actual George Washington expert John Oliver, The historian says the two president had much in common — both businessmen, knowledgeable about real estate. Both enjoyed freakish public popularity and both knew how to play the Big Man on Campus. Washington, very tall for his time, heightened that by riding a 16-hand high chestnut horse; Trump has his Qatari luxury jet. Listen in as Oliver tells Rosemary how he’d compare the two presidents and also how closely connected Washington’s career is with upstate New York.
