NonViolent Medicaid Army Protest

The Nonviolent Medicaid Army is a grassroots network of low-income people who organize to fight for healthcare as a human right and to stop cuts to public assistance programs. The group follows the vision of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and his 1968 Poor People’s Campaign. It is led by people who rely on or are excluded from Medicaid. On September 19, as part of a national day of action, Capital area residents traveled to NYC to participate in the protest. We hear from Rev. Joe Paparone, followed by audio from the protest.
