Goodbye to Peace Activists Lombardo, Bartolotti

On Sunday, August 16, Bethlehem Neighbors for Peace held a goodbye picnic for married couple Joe Lombardo and Pippa Bartolotti, two peace icons who are moving out of the area to be closer to their families. Joe was the co-founder of BNP and United National Anti-war Coalition, while Pippa was a leader of the Green Party of Wales who has been a voice for peace since moving to the Capital District. We hear first from Max Greishaber,, who spoke about the campaign shortly after 9/11 to free Ansar Mahmood, a Pakistani immigrant who was grabbed after taking a picture while delivering pizza of a nearby water reservoir. Joe was also a leader in various efforts to protect Muslims in the Capital District. We then hear from Joe and Pippa. By Mark Dunlea for Hudson Mohawk Magazine.
