Albany Common Council -Cabaret law debate

Albany’s cabaret license law was enacted in 2012 to limit bars and other venues holding live performances. Business owners, DJs, and music fans have complained ever since about the complicated and vague rules, which can take a great deal of time and be difficult to navigate. On November 3, the Albany Common Council took up a proposed revision to the law. We will hear excerpts from the meeting, beginning with public comment from Marlon Anderson and followed by the Council’s debate.
