I.C.E., Rensselaer County Jail, and 287(g)

Rensselaer County was the first county in New York State to sign onto 287(g), a program for allowing state and local agencies to act as immigration enforcement agents. On Friday, July 18, community members confirmed that Immigration and Customs Enforcement vehicles were staging operations at the Rensselaer County Jail.
