Uptown Summer: Soil Testing for Lead

During a previous week, the youth participants collected soil samples from the little league baseball field that is in close proximity to the Sanctuary. After waiting a week for the samples to dry, the participants learned how to test the samples for lead. This process includes adding chemicals to the sample and observing a change in color after the chemicals were added. There were no large traces of lead observed at the conclusion of the experiment.
