Youth Spotlight Photographic Exhibition at Opalka Gallery director Judie Gilmore and jurist Anna Schupack spoke with Andrea Cunliffe of HMM. In these unprecedented times, Opalka Gallery decided to focus exclusively on showcasing our region’s youth photographers. This exhibition provides a space to celebrate our region’s young photographers and offer them an opportunity to show their work alongside their peers.
Three young jurists with ties to the region: Brooklyn based Photographer Khidr Joseph, Russell Sage College alumni; Jayana LaFounatine, professional photographer in Troy; and Anna Schupack, a student activist and photographer.
Out of 63 submissions, they selected work from 32 young artists with subjects from identity and introspection to activism and representation, and sometimes simply close observation,
This exhibition is running until April 24th.
