Uptown Summer: Bird Walk

Ornithologist Zack Davis led a bird walk during Uptown Summer, where the youth were able to spot approximately 18 different species of birds in the local neighborhood surrounding The Sanctuary for Independent Media. With Zach, the participants learned how to classify birds, as well as discover why birds aren’t often found in very urban areas due to environmental racism. The youth left the bird walk with a greater appreciation for birds.
