William Morse on RAM

Twenty years ago, Hudson Mohawk Magazine correspondent Steve Pierce was in Port-au-Prince experiencing the Haitian roots music band RAM during their regular gig at the Hotel Oloffson. The band still plays there almost every week, but this Sunday they’ll be appearing at The Sanctuary for Independent Media in Troy. In this interview, RAM’s William Morse talks about culture, politics, and the band’s decision to blend Afro-Caribbean music with rock’n’roll to create a bold new sound. www.ramhaiti.com
