US Immigration History is Entrenched with Anti-Asian Racism

Julina Guo, Senior Staff Attorney in the Immigration Law Clinic at Albany Law School, gives us a history lesson in US Immigration to highlight how deeply entrenched anti-Asian racism is in the history of the United States of America.
She spoke with HMM’s Sina Basila Hickey about policies such as the Chinese Exclusion Act, shares how political cartoons influenced culture, explains anti-Japanese hate during WWII and in the case of Vincent Chin, and ties it all together to what is happening today.
