NYS Plastic Bag Ban goes into effect Monday, October 19th

The state-wide plastic bag ban takes effect Monday, October 19th in NYS. Grocery stores and food retailers will not be allowed to distribute plastic bags at the point of sale, and municipalities can opt-in to a 5-cent fee on paper bags to encourage reusable bag use. HMM’s Alexis Goldsmith is joined by Jennifer Congdon of Beyond Plastics.
