Malcolm X And His Influence on SNCC (Willie Ricks)

The Hudson Mohawk Magazine Network Roaming Labor Correspondent, Willie Terry, was on a zoom webinar forum on October 31, 2020, entitle “The Ballot or the Bullet: The Influence of Malcolm X on SNCC! (Student NonViolent Coordinating Committee).” The forum was sponsored and chaired by Zayid Muhammad of the Malcolm X Commemoration Committee and dedicated to Imam Jamil Al-Amin (H. Rap Brown). In this segment, he recorded an exert from one of the speakers, Mukasa Dada (Willie Ricks), SNCC Field Secretary and Community Organizer, and the first person to used the term “Black Power” during the Civil Rights Movement.
