Letter Sent to DEC Commissioner Basil Seggos Takes Issue With Norlite Contamination Analysis

On March 17, community members and researchers responded to the New York Department of Environmental Conservation’s (DEC) release of soil and water analysis surrounding the Norlite hazardous waste incinerator in a letter to DEC Commissioner Basil Seggos. The letter rejects DEC’s conclusion that there is no connection between Norlite and contamination in the surrounding community. For more, Professor David Bond, lead author of the letter, joins Hudson Mohawk Magazine’s Alexis Goldsmith.
