Jude Abu Zaineh on Bioart

In our next segment Hudson Mohawk Magazine correspondent Branda Miller speaks with Jude Abu Zaineh, a Palestinian Canadian multidisciplinary artist. Her work explores the use of biotechnology with an interest in dissecting meanings of culture, displacement, and diaspora through metaphorical language embedded in science and social studies; particularly in drawing parallels between middle-eastern and western culture. Having lost both her parents at an early age, Abu Zaineh’s practice also navigates through topics of grief, memory, and nostalgia to develop aesthetics rooted from her childhood and upbringing as a Palestinian in Kuwait. www.judeaz.com
