Homelessness Series Interview With Chris

Hudson Mohawk Magazine correspondent Cat Jones spoke with “Chris” about coming in from the cold, finally getting a place to live for the first time in two years. This is part of Cat’s series of interviews concerning real experiences with homelessness. We tend to imagine that people who are homeless are somehow so different from the rest of us that they are almost beneath notice for many people. However, it’s much easier to find oneself out on the streets in this country than most of us think. Any one us could find ourselves homeless, for many different reasons, and the people who are living out on the streets are our neighbors – as much a part of our community as anyone else. This series explores what it’s really like, in the voices of people who have been there.
