Councilwoman Sue Steele on New Police Reform Initiative

A new working group called “Reimagine Troy Community Justice Services” within the Public Safety Committee began its work this month. Formed in response to the 11,000 person BLM protest this summer and Governor Cuomo’s Executive Order 203, the nine-member group will supposedly research new policing practices, and make recommendations to the Mayor and the City Council by February 1st, 2021. HMM correspondent Miles Mikofsky interviews Councilwoman Sue Steele about the process, and interrogates what it would mean to change the Troy Police.
