Capital Region Hospital Merger Threatens Patient Care – Extended Interview

In early October 2020, Albany-based St. Peter’s Health Partners and Schenectady’s Ellis Medicine announced a plan to merge their health systems. HMM correspondent Corinne Carey talked with Schenectady County lawmaker Michelle Ostrelich about how this proposed merger — which would subsume a secular health care system, Ellis Medicine, under the Catholic health system, St. Peter’s Health Partners — could affect the health of capital region residents. To learn more about this issue, listeners can contact Michelle Ostrelich at [email protected] or visit the website for the Schenectady Coalition for Healthcare Access at schdy.org.
