Assemblymember John McDonald Looks Back at 2020 and What’s Ahead, Part 1/3

In a wide-ranging interview with HMM correspondent Corinne Carey, New York Assemblymember for the 108th District John T. McDonald talks about 2020 and the work he’s proud of in an otherwise dismal year, and ahead to his priorities in 2021. Environmental issues, housing, criminal justice, adult-use cannabis are among the topics McDonald addressed. Assemblymember McDonald, who is also a pharmacist in the city of Cohoes, also addressed the issues raised with the distribution of the COVID-19 vaccine. This is part 1 of a 3-part interview with the Assemblymember, and covers the environmental concerns raised by a Cohoes-based incineration plant, policing reforms, and marijuana legalization in New York. Parts 2 and 3 of this interview will address the outlook for 2021 in the state legislature, and vaccine distribution.
