Drop The Mic With Alton Acker Of Guitar Maker Magazine

Lovonia Mallory has another segment of Drop the Mic with Alton Bear Acker. He started working with wood when he was about ten years old, when his furniture maker grandfather and his carpenter father taught him both crafts. In the mid-seventies his woodworking entered another phase: stringed instrument making. Since he played left-handed, and since there’s always a lack of left handed instruments, he started making his own. The first one was a five-string banjo, in 1977. Alton is the executive director of the Association of Stringed Instrument Artisans and editor of Guitarmaker magazine.
