Winter Herbal Series: Essential Winter Self-Care through Skincare and Scent

Event Series Event Series (See All)

February 2 @ 2:00 pm 3:30 pm EST

Join the Community Apothecary for a series of winter herbal workshops at the People’s Health Sanctuary, including DIY Fire Cider (January 26), Essential Winter Self-Care through Skincare & Scent (Feb 2), and Elder: The Magical Medicine Chest of the People (Feb 23).

Essential Winter Self-Care through Skincare and Scent: In this workshop, participants will learn about herbs, minerals, and oils that are especially beneficial for skincare during the winter months. We will talk about the benefits of applying these herbs to the skin, the benefits of utilizing certain essential oils for immune support, nervous system support, and mood modulation.

We will then handcraft a moisturizing body butter made from infused oils and nourishing butters for soothing dry skin, with your choice of essential oils specific for your needs. (sleep support, mood support, etc)  We will also handcraft a magnesium epsom salt bath soak with herbs, essential oils, oils, and other natural additives (oats, honey powders, etc) for soothing, mood supportive, luxurious bath soaks. Many of us are Vitamin D deficient in the wintertime, but that Vitamin D deficiency could also mean we’re Magnesium deficient, as Magnesium is essential for Vitamin D to activate and move around the bloodstream.

Limited spots available. Registration with a $10 refundable deposit is required to hold your place. Donations recommended on a sliding scale of $0 – 30; no one will be turned away for lack of funds.
