Winter Herbal Series: Elder, The Magical Medicine Chest of the People

Event Series Event Series (See All)

February 23 @ 2:00 pm 3:30 pm EST

Join the Community Apothecary for a series of winter herbal workshops at the People’s Health Sanctuary, including DIY Fire Cider (January 26), Essential Winter Self-Care through Skincare & Scent (Feb 2), and Elder: The Magical Medicine Chest of the People (Feb 23).

Elder: The Magical Medicine Chest of the People: In this workshop we’ll prepare a community batch of core immunity strengthening Elderberry syrup together using locally grown Elderberries while talking about the many healing gifts and teachings Elder offers us. Each participant will take home their own little bottle of delicious deep purple Elderberry syrup.

Limited spots available. Registration with a $10 refundable deposit is required to hold your place. Donations recommended on a sliding scale of $0 – 30; no one will be turned away for lack of funds.

Facilitator Bio: Tara Quackenbush (she/they) is a bioregional folk herbalist, medicinal herb grower, remedy maker, and catalyst. Tara brings people and plant kin together to deepen our connections to each other and the ecosystems we share. She is committed to cultivating a strengthened sense of place and well-being through collective actions and encourages all of us to regularly engage with plants that grow in our bioregion while guiding the co-creation of herbal remedies through hands-on workshops.
