MORE about BICENTENNIAL NEIGHBORHOOD Grant Program

Troy neighborhoods are getting creative this fall to help celebrate 200 years of Collar City history with assistance from the city’s Bicentennial Neighborhood Grant program. Mayor Patrick Madden today announced details of the eight selected projects and events which aim to highlight how Troy’s many unique neighborhoods connect to the Bicentennial.

“Troy is incredibly lucky to have such a rich and diverse array of community groups dedicated to celebrating our city’s collective history,” said Mayor Patrick Madden. “Each of these special neighborhood-driven Bicentennial events will serve as another opportunity to promote Troy as a cultural destination while commemorating our city’s 200th birthday throughout the remainder of 2016 and beyond.”

“In reviewing the various grant applications it became very clear that Troy’s many neighborhoods have their own stories of rich heritage and history worthy of sharing,” said Cheryl Kennedy, Troy Economic Development Coordinator. “We are very excited to support our neighborhoods as they explore our shared past and future and celebrate this historic occasion of Troy’s Bicentennial year.”
