Be the Media! StoryHarvest: Youth Voices from the Garden

A digital storytelling workshop led by artist/chef Ellie Markovitch.  Free community workshop for neighborhood youth on basic documentary skills and the art of storytelling.

YMS Editing SessionEllie Markovich is a professional photo-journalist 
who has worked in NYC and Paris, France.
Born in Brazil and now a resident of Troy,
she is fluent in three languages with extensive
experience producing on-the-street interviews.

Ellie is currently completing her MFA thesis with
"StoryHarvest" on October 15th at the Sanctuary,
as a grad student in the Arts Department at RPI.

Ellie is a Youth Media Sanctuary artist/educator,
and was the lead mentor/ producer/ camera-woman
and co-editor on the award-winning Project VoiceScape piece, "The Haves and the Have-Nots,"
with Youth Media Sanctuary producer Madena Henderson.

Ellie also was a Be the Media workshop instructor two seasons prior, with writer Amy Halloran in
"Story Cooking." This digital storytelling workshop focused on food as a tool to capture powerful
and evocative personal histories.
