Award-winning investigative reporter Azmat Khan joins us at the Sanctuary to speak about her groundbreaking investigation into civilian casualties in the anti-ISIS air war in Iraq.
Khan is a Future of War fellow at New America. Her reporting for the PBS series FRONTLINE, America Tonight, Al-Jazeera, and BuzzFeed’s Investigations team has brought her to Egypt, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and other conflict zones. Her work has been awarded the Deadline Club Award for Independent Digital Reporting; the South Asian Journalist Association’s Daniel Pearl Award for Outstanding Reporting on South Asia; a Livingston Award finalist in International Reporting; and shared the Online News Association award for “General Excellence in Online Journalism”; the Gannett Foundation Award for Innovative Investigative Journalism; and an Emmy nomination in New Approaches to Documentary Film.
