Anti-Fracking with Environmental Filmmaker Jon Bowermaster

November 18, 2015 @ 1:00 pm 10:00 pm EST

The award-winning filmmaker mixes media and activism to explore key threats to the regional environment, from the “bomb trains” in Albany, to the Kinder Morgan pipeline planned across the state, to the proposal to dump obsolete tank cars in the Adirondacks. What is the role of media, arts and activism in the struggle for environmental justice? Meet Jon Bowermaster (writer, filmmaker, adventurer), Mike Bonano of the Yes Men!, refugees from the Marcellus fields, student organizers and activists struggling against fracking in the Capital Region and beyond, in this community arts event! Sponsored by iEAR Presents! and RPI’s School of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences. The event is proceeded by Resist Toxic Fracking Infrastructure Skillshare networking and a community potluck.
