Found Art in North Troy

“Found Art in North Troy” is a year long community wide public art project using found objects to address themes of re-purposing, re-use and sustainability.

How to Get Involved More about Project Participating Artists/Organizations Press

Join us in a series of workshops, concerts, festivals and activities to celebrate the unique community identity of North Troy!

 A collaboration of:

The Sanctuary for Independent Media, Troy Bike Rescue, Collard City Garden, Missing Link Street Ministry, with the Troy Architecture Project, Anasari Design, Capital District Community Gardens, Troy Alley Action, Magic Gardens, and more!

With support from:

National Endowment for the Arts, New York State Council on the Arts, City of Troy, Alfred Z. Solomon Charitable Trust, Robert Greger,
numerous individual donors
and the loving hands of countless volunteers

Highlights:

We hope to enhance the livability of one neglected block of 6th Avenue between Glen Avenue and 101st Street, catalyzing it into a hub for public art, interdisciplinary creative practice and education, festivals, performances and cultural exchange with support for local artists, design professionals and arts organizations.

We’ll design and create Freedom Square as an art park, a welcoming venue for concerts, screenings, potlucks, festivals and workshops.

Artist-led workshops will be key to the design and implementation of this project—focusing on painting, welding, mosaic, earth bag construction, media arts and more.
