Bike Bike Rodeo (2-5 on Satrurday)
a bike rodeo for youth age 5-15 with a bike repair stand, safety check, and control obstacle course. This event will happen from 2-5pm on the lot at 101st and 5th ave., near the Sanctuary. Created by the Albany Bike Rescue team, with help from The Missing Link Street Ministry.
Community Lunch (12pm on Saturday)
There will be a vegetarian & vegan friendly community lunch prepared by the awesome Amy Halloran and served with the help of the BBNE Lunch Bunch. Bike!Bike! Northeast is a low/no waste event, so please bring your own dish, cup, and utensil, or use the extras provided. There will also be an outdoor washing station for dishes. The Community Lunch is sponsored by the Honest Weight Food Coop.
Sanctuary Potluck (5:30 pm on Saturday)
The Sanctuary community will come together to create a potluck style gathering before the film screening. Local community members are encouraged to bring a tasty dish. This meal will also be sponsored in part by the Honest Weight Food Coop.
Veer Screening & BBNE Dance Party with 2 Live Bands
YES! There will be a party Saturday night. First a screening of the movie Veer about the thriving bicycle culture in Portland, Oregon at 7pm, and then a rockin dance party with live bands, Blister Pack (Worcester, MA), and Beware! The Other Head of Science (Albany, NY) beginning at 9pm.
Wrap-up Brunch (10a-12p on Sunday)
Join local and regional cycling activists and a strategic conversation to think about how to better network our efforts. …. and bagels and coffee and stuff.
Tri-County Ride & Polo Spring BBQ Kick-off (12 or 1pm Sunday)
Let’s take a Sunday afternoon ride over the Hudson into Waterford, Cohoes, and Green Island. The ride will end at the Spring Polo BBQ Kickoff under the Rt. 7 bridge in Green Island.
