Troy Night Out with Rensselaer County Historical Society

Date & Time:
Friday, July 28, 2017 - 5:00pm - 9:00pm
Admission:
sliding scale, depending on what you can contribute: $1 - $350!

Join us for an in-progress showcase of “Echoes from Lock One,” an interdisciplinary media project highlighting the 200th anniversary of the Erie Canal.  Created by Youth Media Sanctuary producers in The Sanctuary for Independent Media’s “Uptown Summer 2017” program, stories intertwine art and science to connect history and heritage with contemporary life.

In collaboration with Rensselaer County Historical Society, “Echoes from Lock One” transforms negative stereotypes of our economically disadvantaged and environmentally devastated neighborhood of Census Tract 404 in North Troy into compelling messages of hope and transformation.
