StoryHarvest: A Celebration of Art and Food from Seed to Table!

Date & Time:
Saturday, September 23, 2017 - 3:00pm - 6:00pm

The Sanctuary for Independent Media’s 7th annual outdoor fall event, cultivating community through art, food, stories and music. Celebrate the journey of a growing community network dedicated to sustainability!

Lakou Mizik is a multi-generational Haitian roots band with a mission to bring Haitian culture to the world.

Music creates bridges and breaks down the walls of culture, religion and language. If you've had a chance to see Lakou Mizik  on stage, hopefully you've already seen this in action - we feel it everywhere we go. The way the world is today, these connective, cultural bridges are important than ever and we are doing our best to connect with as many people as possible.

In Haitian Kreyol there's an expression - "Men anpil chay pa lou" - you may know it as "many hands make light work." This is the spirit that we work with in Haiti - this is the spirit of the Lakou - resources are always scarce but we take care of each other with the means we have.
